Looking back-to-back forward

It is now most definitely colder!

As summer has been and gone, I had a chance to reflect on some of the feedback and positive aspects of returning to work. My clients are so important to me and their confidence in my ability to advise, assist and treat them safely means the world!

Some of the patterns I noticed in treatments and care were surprising, others were not so much. The sentiment of supporting local businesses is heart-warming. The affinity people have shown, their loyalty to smaller businesses, this was amazing to see. Most of all, I was happy to see my ladies enjoying treating themselves. People were not going very far on holidays, but self-care was a theme that stood out. People still wanted to feel good, to take care of themselves and put themselves in a positive mindset. I even saw an uptick in ladies wanting to try different things. It was lovely to see them become a bit spontaneous!

New clients, as well as the old, have come to me ready to chat and unwind. I am especially happy to see people who would not have had treatments, or who were less likely pre-covid, begin to take that step toward investing in themselves. I really enjoy that feeling of helping people to discover habits and techniques that make their lives easier and more comfortable.

Being back in the salon, I can now take care of people and give them that mental and physical wellbeing boost. It isn’t just coming in for a treatment. The time you get to take to yourself is sacred. It is a time to unwind. Covid has made people realise

the importance of their own well-being, both physically and mentally. There seems to be less of a focus on material things and more of a focus on experiences and treatment.

I wonder if this might be because of missing people and experiencing hardship. Either way, people are wanting to pamper. Looking after others is not just a lovely hour for you, but I get to spend that hour doing the work I love.

This is my forte, my passion.
